Parent's Day Out (PDO) - Junior Preschool
Parents Day Out is a "stepping stone" between home and school for children who are 2 years old by September 1st of the current school year. PDO is a structured 4.5 hour program full of rich experiences to prepare 2 year olds for preschool; think of it as "Preschool Prep." Parents may choose one or two day options for PDO. Two day options must be a Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Mon/Fri combination.
*Children need not be toilet trained for PDO. Diapering and toilet training are part of our day.
We offer a blended age preschool for children who are at least 3 years old by September 1st. These classes offer hands-on learning emphasizing the whole child. We offer 2 and 3 day programs; 3 hour morning or 4.5 hour extended day classes.
Our 4 day Pre-K classes are offered to children who are at least 4 years old by September 1st of the current year. Children will experience a variety of multi-sensory activities based on exposure to concepts and curriculum that they will see in Kindergarten. Our classes meet Monday-Thursday, and we offer a 3-hour morning class or a 4.5-hour extended day class.
Students must be enrolled in another preschool program to participate in any of our enrichment offerings.
Year Long Enrichment Programs:
S.T.E.A.M. - "Little Engineers" - Fridays 8:30am-11:30am
This is a 3 hour Friday Enrichment class for 3-5 year olds. This class will teach to the STEM curriculum that is taught in Kindergarten - 12th grade. STEAM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning, where academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons in a hands-on, problem-solving, activity-based preschool way! All the "Write" Stuff - Tuesdays 11:30am-1:00pm
Join the multi-sensory fun as we practice developmentally appropriate writing readiness skills. We'll lace, sort, bead, cut, draw, and work with many mediums. As we use a variety of tools and manipulatives we will strengthen our minds as well as hand and finger muscles. Lots of fine motor activities will take place as we prepare and practice to write the proper Kindergarten way!
Book Club - Wednesdays 11:30am-1:00pm
Book Club nurtures the love of books and develops reading readiness by exploring quality book titles each week from different genres. Both fiction and nonfiction selections will be used to show how text and pictures work together to convey meaning. Emergent reading and writing skills will be introduced and modeled as well as beginning comprehension strategies as we learn through literature!
6-Week Enrichment Programs:
Three times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring) we offer 6-week Enrichment Classes. These 1.5 hour classes can be added to your child's preschool class or can stand independently on days they are not currently in a preschool class. A variety of topics are offered including: math, science, art, literature and exercise. These classes are for children currently enrolled, who wish to enrich their regular preschool programming.
